Midwest Thoroughbreds, Inc. is the ownership entity created by Richard and Karen Papiese that currently oversees a hundred thoroughbreds.
OUR HISTORY
Midwest Thoroughbreds, Inc. began back in 2001 with two horses as Sue’s April Fool and My Beau Genius got it all started. Racing under Richard and Karen Papiese until 2007, Midwest Thoroughbreds, Inc. was formed in 2008, making 48 starts that season.
Since 2008, Midwest Thoroughbreds, Inc. has grown on the racetrack, in the breeding industry and in support of many racing and non-racing charities.
On the racing end, Midwest Thoroughbreds, Inc. has become a mainstay at racetracks along the East coast and in the Midwest. Midwest Thoroughbreds has compiled over 2,500 victories and over $50 million in earnings, Midwest Thoroughbreds, Inc. has grown from just a couple of horses into what we are today.
MORE THAN RACING
THOROUGHBRED RETIREMENT
While racing is the main focus, we house many of our retired race horses, mares, yearlings and horses that require a rest at our Thunder Ranch farm in Anthony, Florida.
We are supporters of many thoroughbred retirement organizations and racetrack chaplaincy groups across the country as well.
